I've been playing out with my Bass VI regularly and its case is just going to shreds. I missed a few auctions of 'new' Fender cases for the Bass VI on ebay and then a vintage case which was in good shape that sold for $127.

Anyone got any info on where I might get a case? Even if its an SKB style case I'd be happy to just protect my guitar.

Got an email from my inquiry with Fender. They forwarded my message to Kaman Music .. their suggestion: a gig bag .. For a vintage bass VI?????
I wish I had an option .. I'll post photos of my bass VI case .. its
literally falling apart with each use.

I'm looking for a case and found this:

http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-FEN-0996172-306

Would that work?

I called them and asked and they couldn't even tell me the dimensions.
I emailed Fender and they forwarded my email (without my consent) to
Kaman Music. They could not tell me. They recommended a GIG BAG.
What the hell?

I went ahead and ordered that Jaguar Bass case. My guess is that it will
work, but the Bass VI may be a little short. I will post my results and
photos here.

If you want a vintage correct case you can go directly through G&G cases, the same company that made the originals and that now makes the reissues.

I believe their price is $200, and for that they will make you a VI case with your choice of interior and exterior style (tweed, white, etc.)

Just FYI.

The case finally arrived and while it is physically much larger than the original Bass VI case the internal padding is much more supportive. And it is also made by G&G cases with a 'Made in the USA' tag and a 'Fender' metal nameplate. The Bass VI fits snugly in the case on the sides and into the padding from the top. The only gap is at the headstock and the padding of the which is about 1". But because the fit is so tight, the bass cannot move around. I'll post pictures tomorrow and I plan to call G&G tomorrow and ask them if there is any difference between what they make as their 'Jaguar baritone case' and the 'Bass VI' case.

I called G&G cases and they told me that the Bass VI case they make is very similar, but noted the gap. The cost to order a case from them is $225 (shipped) and they can make it in any style. He said "its a big expensive" and I told him "its actually a great deal considering the value of the instrument being protected by it".

The guitar sits firmly in the case and does not move around when the case is closed.

So as you can see with the Jaguar Baritone case that sells for $129.95 (free shipping, no tax) will get you a G&G case and save you some money.
